STUDENT SCHOOL UNIFORM

1.   The student uniform consists of matching top and bottom scrubs and the required clinic lab coat as specified by UCDH. All uniform (scrubs) purchases and protective clinical lab coat laundering are the responsibility of the student.  Students are required to wear scrubs while they are on campus.  Students are required to order four (4) sets of scrubs. We suggest purchasing from 1-800-LABWEAR (www.labwear.com).  Please refer to your conditional acceptance packet for style specifics and requirements.

2.   A white t-shirt, or long-sleeved t-shirt may be worn under the scrub top providing no writing or design is visible near the neckline or on the sleeves.  The shirt tail must also be worn (or tucked) inside the scrub pant.

3.  Proper shoes are also part of the school uniform.  You (the student) will be required to purchase two sets of shoes (one for clinic and one for daily wear while on campus).
Clinical shoe requirements - All white with white or grey soles, a solid upper (a firm material such as leather or synthetic leather), and closed toe. It is suggested that students purchase shoes of the highest quality possible that are specifically designed for the demands of a healthcare profession. Shoes must be freshly polished and buffed and, in the judgment of attending faculty, appropriate for clinic. Shoelaces must be washed and bleached regularly and replaced, as necessary. Socks must fully cover the legs when in a seated position. Socks may be solid, or have designs provided there are no inappropriate printing or graphics.

Outside of clinic shoe requirements - An “athletic” style shoe (aka-trainer, sneakers, or tennis shoes) which is closed toe. These may be any color combination. Shoes must be clean with no damage. Socks may be solid, or have designs provided there are no inappropriate printing or graphics.
